"Monsieur Cadichon: Memoirs of a Donkey" was written in France by Sophie Feodorovna Rostopchine, the Countess de Segur, in the early 1860s after The Fleurville Trilogy and has sold millions of copies. It is still regarded as one of France's most loved children's stories.
About the translator: The Australian version of "Cadichon" has been lovingly translated by Australian Stephanie Smee, a former lawyer and NAATI translator. Stephanie was raised by French-speaking and French teaching parents and has completed an Honours degree in French at the University of Sydney.
